La Pension – an oasis in the Klein Karoo

Located on almost 4000 sq in a quiet leafy suburb in Oudtshoorn, La Pension is an oasis and described by many guests as a ‘little piece of paradise’. Relax in the magnificent park-like gardens and enjoy refreshing sundowners at the large sparkling pool at the Lucky Bean Coffee Bar and Madibar (in honor of Nelson Mandela who was fondly known as ‘Madiba’ … a father figure). Or enjoy on-site yoga or Thai Yoga Massage in a studio built in 1914 with beautiful high ceilings, wooden floors (and air-conditioned). 

Spacious, tastefully decorated air-conditioned en-suite rooms (we have one in-suite room) offer luxurious accommodation and all rooms have hi-speed fiber, smart TV’s with Netflix and internet access, and hairdryers, a safe if required and a tea/coffee station. A solar installation ensures that when the power goes off for loadshedding the lights stay on!

Situated within easy walking distance of excellent restaurants and a short drive from ostrich show farms and the renowned Cango Caves and magnificent Swartberg Mountains (UNESCO World Heritage site), Oudtshoorn has a lot more to offer than visitors might think – attractions include a highly rated museum which transports one to a by-gone era, a game farm, a few wine farms, olive farms, waterfalls, the Cango Wildlife ranch, meerkats in their natural habitat ……. and more!
