The commercial harbour of Port St Francis is home to the lucrative calamari industry .Built in 1995, it has always held a unique charm because of both its size and the constant activity and is the only national privately owned harbour of its kind, where chokka fleets berth on one side of the harbour while providing anchorage for pleasure craft and ocean going yachts on the other.
Cape St Francis with its historic lighthouse built in 1878 is a tranquil eco-destination. The pristine beach with mild temperatures and the longest sunshine hours on the South African coast ensures a relaxed all year round destination.
As we are surrounded by nature reserves dune fynbos proliferates in the area and many species are endemic to our local region. Cape St Francis Resort borders the beach and provides easy access to a variety of activities.

Cape St Francis Resort is the ideal base from which to visit nearby national parks with Tsitsikama to our west and Addo National Park to our east. The thrill of the bungy jump or canopy tours is just an hour away.On our doorstep lies the wilderness area of the Baviaanskloof so to the bread basket valley of Patensie.
Situated 108 kms west of Port Elizabeth in the quaint village of Cape St Francis lies the Cape St Francis Resort and the luxurious beach villas Beach Break. Privately owned and family run it provides accommodation ranging from luxury beach villas set on the edge of the dunes where you can choose between a sea facing or garden facing room or the entire villa which is ideal for families or friends travelling together. With a private swimming pool and direct beach access the villas are your ideal choice when looking for a beach destination. Travelling as a family consider the cottages which are a mere 300 metres from the beach entrance. These cottages are tastefully decorated and have a strong beach theme and offer a fully equipped kitchen for those who wish to self-cater. One or two roomed Apartments offer affordable accommodation set around a communal swimming pool and have all the facilities associated with a standard hotel room with complimentary wi-fi.
