De Poort Country Lodge
De Poort Country Lodge is a tranquil place in the heart of the Cango Valley, surrounded by mountains and a game farm.
The lodge is located on the R328, 15km North of Oudtshoorn on the right hand side of the road, on route to the Cango Caves. The thatched lodge, owned and managed by Paul and Elna Coetzee, offers the discerning traveler comfortable en-suite accommodation. Next to the fire in your private boma, clear night skies provide wonderful star gazing.
Short hiking trails are on the premises and a lot of birds rent for free. The lodge offers free Wi-Fi, a salt water swimming pool and a Secret Garden where you can recharge and reflect with the soft sounds of the Grobbelaars’ River in the background.
Other attractions in the area include the Cango Wildlife Ranch, Cango Ostrich Farm, Buffelsdrift Game Ranch, Surval Olive Estate, Karusa Winery & Craft Brewery, Rust-en-Vrede Waterfall, the new twin-line Zipline and Swartberg Mountain Pass to name but a few.
All the rooms are fully equipped for self-catering purposes, but breakfasts are available on request. Complimentary shuttle services available to and from selected restaurants on the R328 and in town.
