The Oudtshoorn web cam is situated on the northern edge of town, facing towards the Swartberg Mountains, and refreshes every 30 minutes.
It's generally hot in summer and mild in winter. The area is, judged on available sunlight, a very suitable year round destination in South Africa.
In summer, wear light clothing and a hat during the daytime - adding, perhaps, a light sweater in the evening; in winter, warm days and cold nights beg layers of clothing which are easily removed.
With an annual rainfall of less than 150mm, your holidays will always be bright and sunny.
Rain occurs throughout the year, peaking in early winter and spring, and with thundershowers in the summer months. Light snow occasionally falls in the mountains during winter.
The Klein Karoo is recognised as the country's premier vegetable seed production area, due to extremely clean air.
