Oudtshoorn has become known as a national centre for creativity. Various art galleries showcase regional and South African fine art, while numerous shops sell high quality ostrich products and arts, crafts & jewellery from local artisans.

The Absa KKNK is held in Oudtshoorn each year in honour of the rich Afrikaans heritage in the area. This two week event celebrates diversity in the arts with cutting edge stage productions, a variety of music stages, as well as visual art that is a treat to the connoisseur.

The Klein Karoo Klassique is a festival which creates a platform for the classic arts not featured at the Absa KKNK. A wide variety of classical music, cuisine and wine are featured during the festival that is held during August of each year.
